25. Dread Scott

"America Newspeak Please Feel Free"

"Literal Biblical Horror"

"Blue Wall of Violence"

Dread Scott's art has been deemed controversial by some because of his strong conceptual commentary on police terror and American authority. Personally, this mean it effectively provokes people to think about theses issues. "America Newspeak Please Feel Free" actually brought Scott to court ironically because of his use of the American Flag. He was then known as "Scott Tyler"; I assume he changed his name because of "Dred Scott" the slave who (unsuccessfully) sued the government for freedom. "Blue Wall of Violence" represents different murders by cops who "mistook" the object in the victims hand for a gun; the objects in the figures hand represents what the victim was actually holding.
