32. Eric Fonteneau

"Big Leap"

Eric Fonteneau works with a variety of materials, but I was particularly attracted to his paper pieces. They appear very simple from afar, but have a great amount of detail that makes me wonder how he worked with such a delicate material. "La Bibliotheque" is a replication of a library, which is curious to see in an art gallery, but could be understood as commentary on the societal progression away from books and such environments. "Big Leap" seems like something that the viewer could attempt on their own, but the size and scale cannot be appreciated without the aid of an aerial view.
