Maurizio Cattelan puts lifelike public figures in odd situations. Due to my distaste for cops and the pope, these to pieces are quite funny to me. He also has a wax figurine of a kneeling Hitler. His replications of common idols reminds the viewer of their normal purpose in society. Likewise, the squirrel piece brings up the issue of suicide or violence; presenting it in a small scale with humanized environment reminds use that these situations are quite common in society.
